Basic Computer Classes

Basic Computer classes are held at the Shute Park Branch.

Saturday Classes

Each class is offered in English and in Spanish:

    • English session: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Spanish session: 1 - 3 p.m.

Attend as many or few as you like.

  • 1st Saturday: Intro to Computers
    Introduces new computer users to the computer, mouse and keyboard.
  • 2nd Saturday: Internet and Email Basics
    Learn to use an Internet browser and email. Sign up for an email account and get hands-on experience using email.
  • 3rd Saturday: Basic Web Searching
    Begin searching the web, make Google work for you and discover tricks to navigate the web! Students taking this class should already be familiar with topics covered in Intro to Computers and  Internet and Email Basics.
  • 4th Saturday: Microsoft Word Tips
    Learn basic word processing skills using Microsoft Word. Create and save a document, cut, paste, and format text. Students taking this class should already be familiar with topics covered in Intro to Computers.

Open Computer Lab

Thursdays 9 to 9:45 a.m.
Email, Word, Web and more! Library staff members can help you with your basic computer questions. Help is offered in English or Spanish.
