Tours of the Main and Shute Park Branch libraries are offered for preschool, daycare and student groups.

We will work with you to select a date and time that Youth Services librarians are available to provide a tour.  Note: not all days and times are available for tour groups, due to staffing and other factors, but calling several weeks ahead helps increase the likelihood that a tour can be scheduled. Please contact the Youth Services Division at 503-615-6500 to arrange tours for elementary age and younger groups. 

Older and ELL groups may contact the Adult Reference staff for tour arrangements.  Adult Division tours are customized to the needs of the tour group.

Youth Services tours typically involve visiting the various sections of the library, including the Book Return, the Check Out desk, the self-check machines, the various book and audio-visual collections and the story time room, where two or three books are shared with the group before the tour ends.  Special topics and interests may be incorporated into the tour upon request.
