Teacher Pulls - Book Reserves
Having groups of books held either for check out or for in-library use for your students.
Teacher Pulls and Book Reserves are available to school librarians and school library aides; to elementary, middle school, and high school teachers; to preschool, daycare, and homecare providers; and to homeschooling families. Call us to set up either of these services, or fill out one of the forms listed below and email, mail or fax* it to us. Please give us a minimum of seven days advance notice to fill your request.
Teacher Pulls (form)
Pulls are groups of books on specific subjects pulled by your public librarian and set aside for you to pick up. Usually the books check out for three weeks on your card, with renewals possible if there are no other holds on the books. Most teachers keep these materials in their classrooms for students to use. When you come in to check out your books, contact one of the Youth Services Librarians for help in extending the books' due dates, if necessary for your class's assignment. Fill out a form.
Book Reserve (form)
An alternative to the Teacher Pull is a Book Reserve. By notifying the Youth Services staff at your nearest Hillsboro Public Library of upcoming report topics, we can make sure materials are available by keeping those books in a temporary reserve collection for students' use in the children's area of the library.
