Community members provide valuable assistance by volunteering at the Library. Read through the policy and fill out an application if you're interested in working with us!

Volunteering Overview

There are several library volunteer opportunities, including:

    • shelving materials
    • processing new library items
    • assisting with summer reading
    • helping with the Friends of the Library book sale
    • special projects

The library will provide all the necessary training and support, in addition to a friendly bunch of staff and fellow volunteers to work with. We ask that library volunteers make a minimum commitment of 4 hours per month, for at least 3 months.

Volunteer Application and Policy

To become a volunteer, please fill out the volunteer application and read the policy (links to both appear at the bottom of this page). You may also obtain an application at one of our libraries.

Applications may be returned to Volunteer Coordinator Molly Brandt at either the Main Library or the Shute Park Branch. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (503) 615-3457.
